FAQs

If you’re a ½ size we recommend that you order up to the next whole size. So if you’re an 8 ½, for instance, we’d suggest that you choose a size 9.

That depends on the style. Our lowest boot height is 6” and our tallest is 16”. We also offer slip-on styles that start at 4” tall.

While we don’t yet offer a wide model we suggest those with larger calves try out our mid-height boots. They feature the same opening circumference as our taller models and the top of the boot rests near the bottom of the calf on most legs, which is generally the narrower part of the calf.

We build our boots on a last that has a generous forefoot so Perfect Storm boots tend to fit both average and slightly wider foot widths.

Yes! Because kid’s feet start to fill out as they get older, we build our youth sizes 4 - 6 on a fuller last. That means that women who wear a size 8 could wear a youth size 6. A 7 can wear a youth size 5 and a 6 can wear a youth size 4. For Men, if a size 7 is too large, a youth size 6 should work great.

Choosing socks that wick moisture away from the foot is the best way to ensure that your feet stay comfortable in any pair of shoes or boots. There are several synthetic and natural options available. We’re big fans of merino wool due to its natural moisture management and antimicrobial properties.

Many Perfect Storm boot styles are made of rubber and neoprene. Both will melt if they get too hot. You should avoid placing them near sources of intense heat such as a woodstove, fireplace, propane heater, fire pit etc. Microwaves are certainly off limits! Natural airflow is the best way to dry them so putting them on an air drying rack is the best way to dry them out.

Absolutely!

Our boots are designed and developed in New Hampshire and are manufactured in China.

We offer several types of boots, most with comfort ratings well below zero. Some models are more fashion forward while others feature extra layers of toe and heel reinforcement for rugged outdoor work. You can always take our quick quiz here to get a recommendation from our experts!

Yes it can. Perfect Storm boots are rugged and very durable, however, even the toughest boot sole is susceptible to being punctured by a rogue nail on the farm or job site. There are several options you can look at, including a variety of rubber cements or patches.

Our tall and mid height neoprene offerings stand up well and maintain their shape even after hours of use.

Neoprene is an amazing insulating material and it’s also waterproof. Deep sea divers use neoprene wetsuits to stay warm and dry while in the cold ocean for hours on end.

We offer 5 different boot bottoms, or outsoles, each with different types of uses or conditions in mind. Herringbone Outsole - Flexible, durable and always reliable, our Herringbone outsole is our most versatile 3-season boot bottom. Cleated Lug Outsole - Deep lugs and generous spacing provide dependable traction while purging mud and ice buildup. Lightning Outsole - Taking inspiration from trekking boots and trail shoes, this is our most aggressive lug pattern. Perfect for stability on uneven terrain. Shelter Outsole - A trail inspired lug pattern and rubber compound provide excellent traction in even the slickest environments. An EVA foot frame ensures all day comfort. Lifestyle Outsole - The go-to for all of our women’s lifestyle boots, this outsole combines grippy lugs and a stacked heel for optimal traction and a stylish look.

Instead of inexpensive, flat insoles, we’ve developed a premium, molded, removable EVA insole that delivers superior arch support and all-day comfort. You’ll feel the difference. All of our boots feature our Contoured Insole.

Our boots can be cleaned by rinsing them off with plain water. If you wish to clean them further, you can use warm water with mild soap and a soft bristled brush to gently scrub dirt off the rubber or neoprene.
